How to prepare for your color appointment
Come with second-day hair if possible. Clean hair is fine, but skip heavy conditioners or oils before a color appointment. They create a barrier that can affect how color absorbs.
Bring photos of what you want, but also bring photos of what you do not want. This saves time and prevents miscommunication. Your stylist will tell you honestly what is achievable in one session versus what requires multiple visits.
Plan for time. Balayage takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Full highlights run 2 to 3 hours. Color corrections can take 4+ hours depending on the starting point. Eat before you come. We have water, coffee, and snacks, but a full meal helps you stay comfortable.
Budget for aftercare products. Your color investment lasts longer with sulfate-free shampoo and professional conditioner. Your stylist will recommend exactly what your hair needs, not upsell products you do not need.
